Litz wire is designed to reduce the skin effect & proximity effect losses in conductors within a frequency range of 10 kHz to 5 MHz. These wires are used in a wide range of applications requiring good flexibility and high frequency performance. It consists of multiple single strand wires, individually insulated and twisted or bunched, as per the specific design and application. Length of the lay and pitch direction can be customized as per customer’s requirement.

Due to the different demands resulting from the broad field of applications there are several types of Litz wires available.
BASIC LITZ WIRE
Litz wire made of enamelled wires is either used for high frequency or heating related applications. Ultra fine litz wires provide solutions for both technologies regardless of frequency or impedance range. Electrical, mechanical and cost aspects need to be considered carefully during the design phase.
TAPED LITZ WIRE
Taped high frequency litz wire constructions are mainly suitable for applications requiring high break down voltage. Taping improves the capability to withstand flexing and mechanical stress.
SERVED LITZ WIRE
High frequency litz wire served with natural silk, polyester, or nylon also known as USTC wire is characterized by increased dimensional stability and mechanical protection. The optimized serving tension ensures high flexibility and splicing. We are currently developing USTC Self-Bonding Wire designed for wireless charging application.
